Hello friends,
This is Sabyasachi, from kolkata. You can call me Saby.. Currently I'm residing at Ranchi & working in a consultancy company (it is always important to clarify the reason for staying in Ranchi!)
Yes, I was always interested in photography & I have one analog P&S and a Handycam to prove it. But, recently I developed a penchant for a DSLR by reading BP. And also for seeing other guys clicking here & there. Whatever they're shooting, it's going into the 'abstract' category, may be willfully or by default.
So for me, its like... " Me too would like to have one!"
And to have that I got confused... like any other typical amateur photographer to shell out 35K-40K, without knowing what I need to buy...
Will be delighted to get any suggestion from you. |

Hey Saby ! welcome to family...
i too am going through the same phase as you are. i did extensive research and even though i have enormous budget(60k !!!) but i think i'll settle for nikon d5000 with good kit lens as i am at the learning stage. And as all the pros on this forum would agree,' its not the camera, but the man behind it responsible for great pictures'...i think that d5000 is best entry level dslr (@42k) ! What say ?? |

| Definitely, for first time users, entry level DSLR should be opted. I'm also looking forward to buy D5000. Please advice which lens should be better for an amateur user. |

i have changed my decision from d5000 to canon 550d ! Many many pros have suggested me to buy canon over nikon and also , canon lenses are much cheaper than nikon. i would sy, stick to kit lens(18-55) for a while, get to know your camera better before any huge investment in lens .... |
