Watch...The ice Is Melting....

Extreme Ice Survey(EIS), a US based organization has installed 5 SLRs( brand not mentioned) around Mount Everest to watch the trends of melting glaciers there; the cameras will take stills, videos etc at determined time intervals where by a graphical study of events would be possible; such experimentations had been carried out even on other parts of the world too.

Tech-know

Bounced light is smoothening harsh flash light by letting it get reflected from white ceiling or so, to create the effect of ambient lighting

Archivability is the tolerence of a print against heat, humidity etc Vs time, that ie how long the image can retain its quality without much degradation

Obituary

Hedgecoe, a renowned photgrapher and photo educationist and writer passed away on 3rd June, this year. He has several books dealing with various aspects of photography, especially those of its basics. He is probably the author of most published materials on this subject

Bartholomew On Verdict

That image which shocked thewhole world-of the face of a dead kid, seen by removing the soil from where it is burried- had won the World Press Photo of The Year, 1984; this image was taken by renowned Indian photographer Bathalomew; the recent verdict of Indian Judiciary on this issue was felt very frail, considering the devastation of the tragedy. The victims are denied their genuine compensation....

Proud Indian Pediatrician

World Alliance for Breastfeed Action (WABA), as a part of World Breastfeed Week (WBW) conducted a photography competition, the theme being a message related to the same. Rajinder Gulati, a pediatrician at Civil Hospital, Rajkot, Gujrat has won this contest. He was the only contestant from India

Child Right and You is an NGO working for children's rights in India ; recently they conducted an initiative named "why children are out of the school?". The sessions had meaningful discussion about related issues ; in connection, a photo session was held in various parts of Mumbai, as an awareness campaign
